Dr. Millicent Davis
Author of “Being a Visionary, Going After Your Vision“
Recently, Audra Marshall, Owner of Under His Wings Executive Services got up and personal conducting an interview with the author; Dr. Millicent Davis, asking questions about her first book “Being A Visionary Going After Your Vision.”
Q : How are you feeling now that the book is complete?
A: It feels so good to have completed my 1st book. It was a tough project, one that took much longer than expected, and included a journey through my life success and failure stories as well as dozens of hours of research, a few exhausting back-and-forths with my assistant, not to mention many long days huddling over the keyboard, trying to make the words come out right. It feels so good.
Q: How was the process for you?
A: Writing is hard work. There were times when I wanted to quit and give up. There will also times when we came out with the E-book for example, and I shared my writing with the world, people tried to pick the project apart.
However, the fact that writing is such hard work is the very reason I need to celebrate my writing victories.
Now, I can take it in. Celebrate in it. Breathe in deep and observe the fact that I’ve finished.
Q: What would you like your readers to know about you?
A: I did not start this project to become a writer. I started this project because I wanted to give back to the business world and share my journey. I hope that it will encourage someone else to start or complete their vision. It just happened along the way that I am an author of a good self help book that people can follow.
Q: What would you like readers to know about your book?
A: Read the book. You will get to know me as I am all in this book? Its an easy read. Designed that you can get through it in a day and then start to put your plan in action.
Q: What would you like readers to know about your journey?
A: This journey gave me
- A Sense Of Accomplishment
- A Feeling of Relief
- The Realization That I Have Put Something Valuable Out Into The World
- An Anticipation To Hear What My Readers Think
Q: What would you like readers to know about what’s to come?
A: Oh boy, what’s to come. There is one book in the hopper as I finished this book about leaving a legacy. I am currently writing that book now. While working on that book and my journey through life God has given me something else to share about my life that is so humbling and I am still trying to work through my feelings about “Why me”. I know I have to share it and I will, so stay tuned. Life is not done with me.
Q: What would you like your readers to take away from your book?
A: I want my readers to take away from this book that if I can do it, YOU Can Do It Too. God is NOT a respecter of person. What he has given to me he has given to you too. Yes, we all have gifts that allow us to move more freely in them. But the real test is to move in those things that don’t feel good. Accomplish those things that don’t come easy. Following the plan in my book you can do it.
Q: Why do you think someone should purchase your book?
A: I hope someone purchases my book to meet a need they have in their life. They may have a vision, thought, idea, and need help starting the process of bringing it to life. I want my book to provide a roadmap to show others how to start the process and I have shared my testimony of how I conquered the vision(s) the Lord has given me. I have yet more visions to complete. Buckle up and enjoy the ride.
Q: Why should someone buy the book for someone else?
A: I feel my book falls into a category of a self-help book.
A successful self-help book author establishes a relationship with you by writing a book that’s relatively easy to use, makes you feel that there’s hope for you, shows you that the author understands your problems, gets you to commit to working with the book, and gives you at least some advice right away (Krauss, 2012).
I feel my book would be a great book to purchase as a gift for someone else. Whether they have shared their vision with you or not. Everyone has something they know they MUST do. Buy them the book.
