Q: What inspired the creation of Dawn R Brown Ministries?

A: I saw a number of women who were related or unrelated to me suffering from mental, physical and emotional trauma due to domestic violence. I also witnessed a number of teenage girls following the same cycle of their mothers who were victims of domestic violence.

Q: What is it about Dawn R. Brown Ministries that interests you?

A: Dawn R Brown Ministries seeks to provide a safe space for women and young girls who have suffered mental, physical, and emotional trauma and guide them to find fulfillment and purpose in life.

Q: How can the local community and surrounding areas benefit from your services?

A: We seek to empower women and young girls. History has shown that once a woman understands her power, strength, wisdom, knowledge and influence she seeks to empower others, therefore, building her local community.

Q: What are your goals and strategies for promoting your business’s growth?

A: Currently we are in our third year of doing an annual conference. Our goal and strategy is to reach, teach and empower women and young girls through social services, advocacy programs, resources and sound biblical counsel. Right now we are promoting through social media.

Q: What are some of the challenges you’ve faced?

A: Some of the challenges we face is keeping all of the Board members consistently involved, funding, reaching a larger community of women who are facing domestic violence.

Q: What is your vision for the company?

A: The vision of our organization is increase our presence in the tri-state area and eventually nationally.

Q: What is your strategy for selecting the right team members?

A: DRB Ministries took years to birth. When it was finally time to organize I prayed and asked God who should be involved.

Q: Did you have a mentor to encourage your entrepreneurial spirit?

A: No, I did not have a mentor. My education, work experience and involvement in church and other organizations helped cultivate my entrepreneurial spirit.

Q: What’s the most rewarding aspect of running your own business?

A: The most rewarding aspect of running this organization is watching women make positive changes for their mental, physical and spiritual health. I also enjoy seeing the young girls interact with each other as they learn more about themselves, find their identity and make healthy relationship choices.
