Recently, Dr. Davis sat down with Minister Shontel Hightower for an interview to ask Shontel a few questions about: “ROCK BOTTOM”.
Q: What inspired the creation of Rock Bottom
A: I created Rock Bottom because I hit rock bottom so many times in my life. Once I shared my story and many people responded and wanted to share their stories with me.
Q: What is it about Rock Bottom that interests you?
A: I want to share other people’s experiences with Rock Bottom. I want to be that platform that affords people that wouldn’t normally have a voice to share. To have the opportunity to share how they’ve overcame adversity.
Q: What is your vision for Rock Bottom?
A: My vision for Rock Bottom is to be that outlet that allows me to ask the questions to those who are sharing to be open and honest. I pray that God will allow for me to use this platform for other’s to be healed from their past; delivered and set free in Jesus Christ Name.
Q: What are some of the challenges you’ve faced in business and or life that you want to discuss?
A: The challenge that I’m facing right now is that I couldn’t believe how hard it was to find a video production company to tape the show. Some of the people I reached out to I’ve worked with before and often times my services were free of charge. The hard pill to swallow was the fact that until this day they did not respond. I look at it like the Lord closed those doors and I needed to move on from some of those relationships.
Q: Did you have a mentor to encourage your entrepreneurial spirit?
A: I would say 1st is that my mother pushed me to have a business however, I was too naive to listen at the time and when I did want to listen she passed away. Now as an adult I would say it was Bishop Gilbert Coleman and Elder Millicent Davis that gave me that push and scriptures to go along with it.
Q: Are there any other projects you have or are working on? I understand you have written several books?
A: The only project I want to see move forward in a positive direction is Rock Bottom. Prayerfully it will launch later this year.
Q: List another topic that you would like to briefly discuss during the interview:
A: Thank you, for the interview I pray that everyone stays safe and hopefully the next time we chat I will be married with a new last name.
